My work in this area originally came from seemingly mixed messages I was being asked by training companies to deliver. On one hand, in the confidence section of many workshops, they were being told to ‘fake it till you make it’, on the other hand, they were being told that authenticity was the key to success. So I started exploring how you could do both. My theatre background was key to this exploration. As an actor, rather than pretending to be something you’re not, we do our best work when we’re reaching inside to find an authentic version of the emotion we’re being asked to play, and then calling on it for a given situation.
In these sessions, I ask participants to explore authentic versions of themselves. We look at limiting beliefs that block us from bringing the full spectrum of our authentic selves to different situations, and work to remove those blocks. The result is a more authentically confident version of you!
